I did have a look at the nautilus source code but could not find any way
to convince it to create zero desktop windows without specifying that on
the command line. So the nautilus task remains open. I think nautilus
should honour _NET_NUMBER_OF_DESKTOPS==0 or _NET_WORKAREA of empty size,
but it refuses to do either.

Bug description:
  nautilus 'Desktop' window on Xmir is transparent. I can't see any
  wallpaper or icons.

  Although if you drag within the window you can see the selection
  rectangle.
