Public bug reported: You can't reverse window maximize on gnome terminal. When you maximize the window then minimize, either by using the maximize/minimize window or by double clicking the title bar (intentionally or otherwise) then when you try to minimize the window it uses almost the full screen (excluding space occupied by panels). It forgets the initial size or the size eplicitly set by the user. View -> Normal size also has no effect.
Workaround: terminal -> 80x24 does work after you have minimized the window (but not before).
