Title:
Displaying 1024x768 on external monitor shows 800x600 with black
  border

Status in xserver-xorg-video-intel package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
If I turn off the LCD display in my Dell Inspiron 910 and turn on the
external display set to 1024x768, I see an 800x600 display in the top
right of a 1024x768 display (see attached screenshot). I can move the
mouse outside the 800x600 area, but no windows show up.
