changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version.

When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated
logs by running only once:

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Title:
  internet speed slow down

Status in gnome-terminal package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  internet speed slow down when we left the terminal and no other software like 
QB is not active. the speed goes up when we browse in the chrome. easilly 
reproduceable 
  open terminal download something using command i was downloading xamp server. 
  left the terminal for few moments the internet speed come down and when we 
just open the browser and open google if goes high. 
  ubuntu 13.04
