Title:
No video output after 15.10 - 16.04 upgrade on AMD APU

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
After rebooting following doing a command-line upgrade from Ubuntu
MATE 15.10 to 16.04, the screen remains blank after the BIOS and grub
  displays.

I can log in via ssh, but nothing appears on the screen and it soon
goes into power-saving mode, suggesting there's no video output from
  the graphics system.

I know that fglrx has been removed in favour of the open source
drivers, but these either aren't working for me or aren't being
  selected.

AMD A4-5300 CPU, which presents as an AMD HD 7480D graphics card.
