Hi Václav, Thanks for your report. Did some googling, and found:
http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/258644/how-can-i-use-opentype- collection-font-with-fontspec-package-and-luatex Think it's related; looks like the LuaTeX version matters. Please let us know whether this helps. If not, I think this is an upstream issue at first hand, i.e. it should better be reported to LuaTeX (or possibly Google, who provides the Noto Sans CJK fonts). ** Changed in: fonts-noto-cjk (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to fonts-noto-cjk in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1590580 Title: Noto CJK font issue with LuaLaTeX Status in fonts-noto-cjk package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I am seeing an issue with NotoSansCJK-Regular.ttc when I try to use it in LuaLaTeX: </usr/share/fonts/opentype/noto/NotoSansCJK-Regular.ttc (NotoSansCJKtc-Regular:3) !LuaTeX error (file /usr/share/fonts/opentype/noto/NotoSansCJK- Regular.ttc): sfnt: table not found...
