I have the same problem on my ASUS X52JU with a fresh install of Oneiric : Brasero shows that my empty CD-R has 7,9Mo left (see screenshot).
But strangely it worked when I pressed the "Burn" button : my .iso file was correctly burnt on the CD-R. ** Attachment added: "screenshot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/875841/+attachment/2581735/+files/screenshot.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to brasero in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/875841 Title: Brasero cannot burn CD anymore - empty disc is shown with 5.8MB free space Status in “brasero” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Since my update (fresh install!) to Ubuntu Oneiric, Brasero does not work anymore. I wanted to burn the image of Ubuntu Oneiric, 64bit - but either the dialog shows a free space of a few MB for a completely new CD-R OR when I start the system, insert the disc again, it seems to work and shows 730MB free, but crashes immediately when selecting the image and the drive. Bad!!!!!!! How am I supposed to work with that???
