Aaand now the issue just went away. apt and dpkg not showing any updates since this report was filed. I'm at a loss as to potential explanations. Machine was not under heavy load during the time the symptoms were investigated.

Music continues to play fine. Thaws our after about one minute and interactions with GUI work fine until a new file is selected or starts automatically. Keyboard audio keys don't do anything during the freeze. This behaviour started out of the blue. Only suspect package that updated before it started is libaudiofile1, but I backdated that and the problem still occurred. Tried an strace but the machine froze. ltrace showed nothing obvious (to a non-linux dev like me anyway). Playing files with Totem did not show this issue. Neither did SMPlayer Ubuntu 14.04 Rhythmbox 3.0.2 amd64 binaries Tested with MP3 files only To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/1511905/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
