TomasHynk, thanks for the suggestion. I have run that file hplip-3.15.4.run and it appears to install OK (no error messages).
As well it manages to set up my HP 1102w. However it fails to setup my HP M1212nf MFP with the following message: error: Printer queue setup failed. Error : successful-ok-ignored-or- substituted-attributes So I guess you can say it's a partial work-around...
