The print dialog and its preview facility are part of GTK, not of CUPS.
If the printout commes out correctly, this is not a CUPS problem.

Title:
Try to preview multiple pages per sheet into print dialog does not
  work.

Status in gtk+3.0 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 14.10 (Unity)
  Cups: 1.7.5-3ubuntu3.1
  hplip: 3.14.6-1ubuntu1

  Example with Evince program:

I try to preview into print dialog 2 (or more) pages per sheet,
with a PDF file the opened preview windows shows only an empty page
when I select 2 page per sheet selection, and only shows one miniature
page ( but several pages stacked on top of each other, overlapping )
when select 4 or more pages per sheet . The same file, but conver to
POSTSCRIPT (with pdftops ), shows always only 1 page.

The same behavior occurs with GEdit program for example.
