Also, it's simply not coherent with the notifications for the email software : the enveloppe becomes blue if I receive emails. It's not turning blue if I receive a message in Empathy. I would expect it to behave the same way no matter which softwares is receiving something, right ?

Therefore, I don't like that other people see the messages I'm getting from my girlfriend or from my business partner. In ubuntu 11.04 I could disable "visual notifications" in empathy and still the "little envelope" of the indicator applet was colored in blue each time I was getting a message. That was great because I was getting notified of a new message but nothing was displayed on screen. In ubuntu 11.10, if I disable the visual notifications I don't get anything when new messages arrive. Needless to say there can be half an hour (or more) from the moment I get the message and the moment I realize it (because I manually check). Thanks, have a nice day!
