If one needs to use both cartridges, he is to bypass printout and choose in the detailed field below "resolution, quality, ink type, media type" the proper detailed mode. No one should use only the color cartridge to print in color mode. I checked the following drivers, and all of them have this issue: OfficeJet 4100 4105 4110 4115 4200 4300 All of the above, using only the recommended option (foomatic/hpijs). I also checked drivers for some non 4xxx series (5100, some 6xxx and some 7xxx, for example) and none of those has this problem, so this is 4xxx specific.
