but without "sleep" does nothing. Logout. Login. Added new programs to the ~/.config/autostart (via System > preferences > startup application. Logout. Login. No applications have autostarted. This includes the volume control, nm-applet and all other applications on the autostart list (/etc/xdg/autostart).
