Title:
all read messages are deleted though the box is unticked

Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunderbird

Most of my read messages are deleted automatically, although in the menu It
says to never delete read messages until I say so. In consequence, I have lost
most of my read messages. Though strangely, not in all the folders - just the
important ones!
All the read messages in my in box are deleted as soon as I read them and
move off the message. All the read "keep its, important information" have been
deleted, but not the Tescos offers folder. AAArgh. Can anybody help me please?
  Thank you
  Shela
