Title: resizing in compiz doesn't show the terminal size Status in “compiz” package in Ubuntu: Opinion Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal Resizing in metacity does show the size of the terminal in a small window, and the values change while resizing, but not in compiz. There you get no window like with metacity. WORKAROUND: The problem is that Ubuntu 11.x does not have the "resizeinfo" compiz plugin enabled by default. You can turn it on with a simple: gconftool -s /apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins -t list --list-type=string '[core, bailer, detection, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, decor, vpswitch, place, imgpng, regex, unitymtgrabhandles, grid, session, gnomecompat, snap, mousepoll, resize, move, animation, expo, ezoom, workarounds, wall, staticswitcher, fade, scale, unityshell, resizeinfo]' Or by enabling it in ccsm if you have that installed.
