Bug description:

  Calculator can crash when using super/subscript buttons. Detected by 
errors.ubuntu.com

  [Test Case]
  1. Open Calculator
  2. Change to advanced mode (Mode>Advanced menu)
  3. Enter "1 " (note the trailing whitespace)
  4. Press the subscript button "↓n"
  Expected result:
  Calculator enters subscript mode
  Observed result:
  Calculator crashes

  [Regression potential]
  Low, the fix is in code only used by the super/subscript buttons
