Title:
  gnome-settings-daemon doesn't work with xinerama (nvidia, amd64)

Status in The Somerville Project:
  Invalid
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have an amd64 system with 2 Nvidia cards (one AGP, one PCI) each
with one monitor attached. gnome-settings-daemon works with one
display and two separate displays, but enabling Xinerama (with one or
two displays) causes it to crash on startup. The assertion "screen !=
NULL" fails in screen_update, after a parse error starting xrandr
  manager.

Please let me know if you need more info or if you need me to test
  anything.
