Title: xsane and other sane frontends don't recognize scanner device without root privileges Status in “sane-backends” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: libsane I have to run xsane with root privileges to get access to my scanner, other way xsane detects only my usb PC webcam. I use ScanMagic 600 CP scanner connected via parallel port. I believe that occurs because libsane is not compiled with libieee1284 support.
