graphics corruption when unmirroring dual monitors
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Upgrading to 12.04 from 11.10, the dual monitor setup is not working any more.
The two monitors work fine when mirrored.
If unmirrored, the screens become corrupt. When the previous configuration is
restored after a few seconds,
the screens change but are again corrupted. Switching to text mode works
though.
