Alex, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a terminal, as it will automatically gather and attach updated
debug information to this report:

  [Thinkpad T60] Choppy Audio

Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Audio is choppy, but consistently so.  I will be trying a few
  different fixes and will report back with any additional information,
  but wanted to use the official bug report tool so it could collect
  information while the sound was occurring.  This has been an issue
  since upgrading from 10.10.
