I'm not able to reproduce this when entering a guest session from the login screen when no regular user is logged in.
If I enter a guest session from within a regular session, switch to console and switch back, it prompts for the password of the regular user, not the (non-existent) password of the guest. I really don't think that the original issue is present any longer. Would the (new) issue possibly be resolved if bug 1038881 is fixed? ** Changed in: lightdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => Low ** Summary changed: - Returning from console to guest session asks for a non-existent password + Returning from console to guest session takes me to the regular user session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/741067 Title: Returning from console to guest session takes me to the regular user session Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: gdm-guest-session gdm-guest-session 0.23, gdm 2.32.0-0ubuntu12, Ubuntu Natty 1.
