William Fleming, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-synaptics REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
  clickpad hp envy sleekbook

Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
with my new hp envy 6 sleekpad, I am having trouble with the cliqpad which
makes typing nearly impossible.
It seems to do with palm detection not working (works fine with windows 7, I
am running dual-boot wubi).
i've tried changing palm detection settings using "xinput set-int-prop"
command to various settings with no change in behavior.

  my settings are as follows:
          Synaptics Palm Detection (268): 1
        Synaptics Palm Dimensions (269): 4, 100

this computer is relatively new to the market so maybe there is a
hardware issue that needs to be addressed? from the synaptics MAN
page I see that palm detection requires hardware support.

Also, the upper left corner touchpad on/off button does not work under
ubuntu (12.04), and the LED doesn't work, but I have seen that bug
reported elsewhere for other hp envy models.
