DonKaron, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-nouveau REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. Now using Gnome fallback to preserve the desktop and work-flow that I am familiar with. Also using Compiz, rotating cube enabled. Here is the bug: when two windows overlap in a given desktop and I click the partially covered one in order to bring it to the front the change of position takes place but both windows go blank. If I minimize and then restore the window the contents return to the display. If I click again on the window that was originally on top that, too, restores the display. If the windows do not overlap then there is no problem switching between them. This started yesterday with the upgrade. Don't now if it is a bug in 12.04 or Compiz or elsewhere. Hope this helps.
