In the past, my complaints about the poor quality of Ubuntu wallpapers
were ignored. The main reason given at the time was that we had to
dither them all to make them look right on low-quality 18-bit LCD
panels.

This is obviously no longer true. Most wallpapers now are not dithered
(since saucy). And in the case of ubuntu-touch, we only officially
support devices with very high quality 24-bit screens. So we should be
more concerned about the quality of the images we present.
