I forgot to add: The checkmarks change only when hovering, and never
when clicking. The expected behavior is tha menu items only do an action
when clicking them.

Title:
checkmarks in view menu change on hover

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When I click on the "View" menu in Impress, it shows a long list with
user interface elements to enable/disable, like the sidebar for slides
or the statusbar. When the cursor travels over these (without
clicking), the checkmarks toggle automatically and the sidebars toggle
on and off and mess up the workspace.

This could be related to the fact that the "status bar" menu item
shows an arrow (▸) and a submenu containing the items that should be
  in the "toolbars" submenu.

  Ubuntu: 13.10
  LibreOffice: 4.1.2.3 Build ID: 410m0(Build:3)
