I neglected to mention and thought it was probably pretty important: I walked through the installation process (automatic, because I am a newer Linux user) on my new 13.01 install of Unbuntu and this printer install for the Canon PixmaMX880 worked flawlessly.
Later the same day when I walked through the exact same process on my older install of 12.04 Ubuntu (it's probably 6 months old) it failed with the above error "no trusted origin". I am unsure whether the age of the Ubuntu installation or the version of the Ubuntu installation is more impactful, or both. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to jockey in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1009276 Title: auto driver downloader fails on epson px-5600 (precise pangolin) Status in “epson-inkjet-printer-escpr” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: two sperate machines one 23 bit one 64. here is the log, says the origin us untrusted at the end, (sounds like an easy fix?) 2012-06-06 09:45:11,662 ERROR: Binary package epson-inkjet-printer- escpr has no trusted origin, rejecting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr/+bug/1009276/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
