Intel chipsets seem to be the most common complaints. I see something similar on Nvidia+nouveau, but I'm not sure it's the same problem. In browser "about:flags", turning options off that mention compositing and GPU does not seem to help, though I would like more confirmation of this. It could be some interaction with the compositing manager in Ubuntu. It's not a display-only problem, as screenshots do capture it.
