Title:
  had poor sound tried to fix now no sound at all

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  was having static sounds in my audio streams. I tried to update the
  alsa mixer and then i removed the pulseaudio and reinstalled it. I
  edited the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and now my sound does not
  work. Along the top bar in unity GUI there is no sound icon.
