Title:
Huawei E353 stopped working after upgrade

Status in “usb-modeswitch” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Huawei E353 -modem stopped working after upgrading to 12.10. It
worked (and still works) out of the box on 12.04. The modem is
recognized as an usb-drive. I've tried booting with older kernel
(3.2) and running usb-modewitch manually, but the problem persists.
The dongle itself is not faulty, because it works flawlessly on all my
machines that still run 12.04. I'm using Xubuntu but the problem seems
to be present on Ubuntu as well.
