  glitch when adjusting VLC stream volume

Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  when using vlc, any attempts to change the volume, either by using the
  mixer or vlc itself will cause loud crackling noises on kubuntu 13.04.
