I am affected by this bug too, on Lubuntu. I have a Realtek ALC898, and
I have no sound.

I have a motherboard by the same manufacturer, it is a GA-Z87X-UD3H.

Title:
Realtek ALC898, SPDIF Out, Internal - No sound at all

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Seems to be a trend with Realtek ALC's, I've seen the issue reported
for other models but I felt it may help to know there is more models
  affected by this.

Everything is detected all right, there is however no sound coming
  out... it's weird

  Thanks
