I suspect it is an instance of this bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=639777
I'm hitting this as well, with gvfsd-http eventually consuming almost 1 GB of memory on my system, so it's an important bug for me. Similar to what the Totem user in the Gnome bug report is seeing, this is triggered on my system by opening http audio streams in Rhythmbox 2.98. After that, and even if the stream or Rhythmbox itself is closed, memory usage continues to creep up. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #639777 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=639777 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1158529 Title: gvfsd-http memory leaks Status in “gvfs” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hi, after one day of usage, I got like 200 megs of memory allocated by this deamon ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: gvfs 1.15.4-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-13.22-generic 3.8.3 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-13-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Mar 21 21:23:41 2013 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-12-07 (104 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Alpha amd64 (20121207) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=sk_SK.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gvfs UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1158529/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
