I have more experience with the onboard-aided right click (same running under Val;grind or without Valgrind):
Touch-clicking the right-click key on onboard makes it turning grey. After that doing one touch click on the desktop background does nothing. A second touch click on the background makes the right-click menu open and onboard disappear. Right-clicking in Chromium does not work.
