Public bug reported: start computer
launch calc - begin editing new spreadsheet and calc freezes (occurs on first event, e.g. click in cell, type first letter/number), calc window goes grey for upwards of 30 seconds, then unfreezes and normal editing resumes - opening additional spreadsheets or creating other new spreadsheets does not encounter freeze but these actions can only be performed once initial freeze has passed - or - launch calc by double-clicking a spreadsheet - begin editing and spreadsheet freezes (again first event as described above) - often sub-menus are empty after freeze is over, e.g. Insert/Names, Insert/Picture, Data/Filter and etc display submenu stub with no entries. Must close and restart calc to cause submenus to be repopulated ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: libreoffice-calc 1:3.6.2~rc2-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-26.42-generic 3.5.7.6 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-26-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu10 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sat Apr 6 10:41:47 2013 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-11-12 (145 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120823.1) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libreoffice UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to quantal on 2012-11-17 (139 days ago) ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug quantal running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1165440 Title: calc freezes when beginning to edit new or existing spreadsheet Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: start computer launch calc - begin editing new spreadsheet and calc freezes (occurs on first event, e.g. click in cell, type first letter/number), calc window goes grey for upwards of 30 seconds, then unfreezes and normal editing resumes - opening additional spreadsheets or creating other new spreadsheets does not encounter freeze but these actions can only be performed once initial freeze has passed - or - launch calc by double-clicking a spreadsheet - begin editing and spreadsheet freezes (again first event as described above) - often sub-menus are empty after freeze is over, e.g. Insert/Names, Insert/Picture, Data/Filter and etc display submenu stub with no entries.
