Definitely not a driver bug. I would guess either an evdev input driver
or kernel bug.

Title:
[gm45] caps-lock light got inverted meaning

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

On one occasion, the CAPS LOCK light began working in the opposite
meaning as usual - light meant no caps lock, no light meant caps lock.

I could not reproduce the problem in another session.
