The workaround does work however imo the fix should be included in the
Ubuntu packages. We have thousands of machines affected by this issue
and since 12.04 is the LTS version customers are migrating from 10.04.
They are all being affected by that issue.

Could you guys check with upstream what's the best for having this
fixed?

Bug description:
  dconf-editor not edit authentication-metnods in vino server.

  System: Ubuntu 12.04
  Packages: dconf-tools_0.12.0-0ubuntu1

  When editing the value /desktop/gnome/remote-access/authentication-
  methods there is a error "Error setting value: 0-4: unknown keyword"
