Public bug reported: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using: 12.10 2) The version of the package you are using: evolution: 3.6.0-0ubuntu3 3) What you expected to happen: I selected a message in the list of messages in the right-hand pane. I expected the contents of the message to appear in the reading pane at the bottom. Note that the crash only happens when I am navigating an IMAP folder, not a local folder. The crash does NOT happen when Evolution is syncing the folder with the IMAP folder. It seems to happen later.
4) What happened instead: A half-second after I clicked the message, the Evolution GUI simply crashed and dissappeared. Checking the running processes before and after the crash via "ps", I note that all the backend processes continue to run. Only the "evolution" process crashes. These are the processes which do NOT crash: /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-source-registry /usr/lib/evolution/3.6/evolution-alarm-notify /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-addressbook-factory ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1095239 Title: Evolution crashes when navigating messages in IMAP folder Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using: 12.10 2) The version of the package you are using: evolution: 3.6.0-0ubuntu3 3) What you expected to happen: I selected a message in the list of messages in the right-hand pane.
