I have the same problem here with ubuntu 12.04, Rhythmbox 2.96 and a
samsung YP-k3, the error message is
"LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample(): could not get object info." ,
don't know how to get the error log :S, and the files are playable on
the device, the only problem is the infinite pop-up error windows..

Title:
  "Media player device error: LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample():..."

Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: rhythmbox

  This is on Karmic Beta (amd64) using Rhythmbox 0.12.5:
  When I transfer audio over to my MTP device (A Samsung YP-U3), with every
track I transfer, an error window pops up and announces: "Media player device
error: LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample(): object type doesn't support
RepresentativeSampleData."
  This pops up for every track I had transferred (so it gets to be troublesome
when I move hundreds of songs, because then I need to wait and click "Close"
hundreds of times).
  Interestingly, everything seems to play perfectly fine in the MTP device.
