I'm running lightdm and open a gnome session. Then, if I try to suspend or hibernate my computer from shut down option in gnome main menu, and then clicking either suspend or hibernate, nothing happens. /var/log/syslog show this: Oct 30 10:32:52 servidor gnome-session[1730]: libupower-glib-CRITICAL: up_client_get_can_suspend: assertion `UP_IS_CLIENT (client)' failed Oct 30 10:32:59 servidor gnome-session[1730]: libupower-glib-CRITICAL: up_client_get_can_hibernate: assertion `UP_IS_CLIENT (client)' failed Running upower --monitor in a terminal windown while trying to suspend/hibernate shows nothing. My user has admin rights and I can suspend or hibernate from command line using pm-suspend or pm-hibernate flawlessly. In fact, in Precise I was able to suspend/hibernate from menu. This is happening to all of my computers (4) since I upgraded to Quantal, and it's holding me back to upgrade my wife's laptop.
