Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to 12.10, the screen output of my scans is just grey.

My scanner (HP C6380) is working with xsane, and the output is OK.

If I scan a document with simplescan and save it, the file is OK.

It's just the screen output that is grey, so I can't check ok crop the
scans before saving them.

** Affects: simple-scan (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
