Title:
  network manager shows duplicate devices

Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:

the network manager is not seeing my pc's network devices the same as the
command line view (ifconfig).
Infact it displays duplicate labels for each of the physical devices.
The pc has 1 gigaethernet device and 1 wireless network device. Additionally
one USB2Ethernet device is attached.
Due to special application requirements, the gigabit device, (eth0) is
configured for manual with static ip address.
The wireless device (eth1) is set to use dhcp. The USB2Ethernet device should
be seen as eth2 and allowed to be set to manual or dhcp. However, the following
photo shows my delima.
