It may not be valid in Quantal but as it still exists in 12.04 LTS is it
appropriate that it is marked invalid? Would not Won't Fix be the
appropriate status?

Title:
On login screen cannot tell whether Unity or Unity-2d is selected

Bug description:
On the login screen it is not possible to tell whether logging in will result
in a Unity or Unity-2d session. The Ubuntu icon is shown for both. Even
clicking that icon does not show which is currently selected, it shows the
options but does not show which is currently selected.
This is annoying if one has to use both at different times. I have to use 2d
when I have an external monitor plugged in as the hardware will not support 3d
in that situation. When I am just using the laptop display I use 3d.
I suggest that different icons should be used for 2d and 3d
