I have the same problem after I upgraded to Quantal today!
I searched in Ubuntu Software Center, find that I'm using
nvidia-current-updates 304.51-0ubuntu1 which was installed on 2012-03-11 as
shown.

Bug description:
Very similar to the bug at the following address, however, this time
the problem is occurring when using nvidia-current 304.51.
The launcher never reappears when moving the mouse to the left of the
screen.
