if so than please report the bug when the apport mention it on your system here

get this bug again and please do me a favour report it when apport mention it
on your system or where you have got this file usr........ empathy-chat crash
open this file with apport you will get the steps to send it to launchpad that
will be a suitable way

Bug description:
every time i open a chat window for a specific contact, empathy
crashes.
for some reason, apport doesn't send the crash report, but silently
exits, so attaching the /var/crash file to this manually filed bug
