Title:
gnome-volume-control crashed with SIGABRT in __kernel_vsyscall()

Status in “gnome-media” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I was in the "Try Ubuntu" phase of Ubuntu 11.04 USB memory stick
installation. I was playing Josh Woodward's song when I decided to change the
hardware device in the "Sound" panel from "Stereo Duplex" to "Analog 5.1
Surround" which I have. The system stopped playing the song suddenly, no other
sounds (like terminal alarm bell) were available. NOTE: These (alarm) sounds
are available in the installation phase (live system), but they are GONE in the
installed system (I installed successfully several times, alarm sounds are
still missing). NOTE2: My monitor (Samsung 24") is recognized by the live
system,
but not by the installed system. It appears you have a better hardware
detection for installation than for the installed system itself. This is all
the more frustrating as Ubuntu 10.04 shows NONE of these quirks.
