Sun rise and sun set time is off for Winnipeg as well. For October 1 2012 it is
displaying
Sunrise 6.07 AM
Sunset 6:36 PM

Compare it with this website:
http://www.intellicast.com/Local/Weather.aspx?location=CAXX0547
Sunrise: 7:29 AM
Sunset: 7:06 PM

Which I would say is pretty accurate.

Title:
Sunset and sunrise time is incorrect north of the arctic circle

Status in Indicator-Weather:
  Fix Released
Status in “indicator-weather” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: indicator-weather

I live north of the arctic circle where we have midnight sun right
now. The sun doesn't set for 2 months. The times for sunrise and
sunset in the weather-indicator stay at 05:53 and 18:00 even though
  this is thoroughly incorrect.
