Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu v. 12.04 ltr. I just configured the firmware on my
Motorola Surfboard sbg 6580. I expected to be able to find my wireless
connection instantly, but now the network manager applet is not showing
ANY wireless connections. I disconnected the power cord from the back of
the modem/router and replaced it and then restarted my computer, but
still no luck. Thanks

** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
