*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 779754 ***
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/779754

This bug affects me on about half of bootups, and it is not a duplicate
of 779754. My nm-applet is perfectly clickable, it just does NOT show
the VPN menu sometimes.

Restarting is not a workaround- once I'm logged in, restarts display
lots of error messages and fail to display on the status bar.
Occasionally one will show up but then it is not usable- in this case it
may be 779754 showing its ugly head, but only after a restart due to
this bug.

Title:
nm-applet sometimes removes VPN menu after suspend/resume

Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Since upgrading to natty, I notice that nm-applet seems to remove the
list of VPN connections despite having one configured. I think this
follows a suspend/resume of my laptop but it doesn't happen 100% of
  the time.
