Title:
Please provide a way to specify a custom APN for mobile broadband
connections
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager
Certain new mobile broadband modems such as those used on Verizons 4G
LTE require one to specify a custom APN (other than what is
automatically detected/used by Network Manager). This was possible in
10.10 but is no longer available in 11.04. So, procedures such as the
one described at http://www.pagey.info/2011/01/using-pantech-uml290
-on-ubuntu-linux.html cannot be used on 11.04. One has to resort to
using wvdial or some other ppp application or script. Please allow
users to specify a custom APN for mobile broadband connections.
