Bug 1051447 is about this same problem, it seems. That one's assigned
to glib. It probably is that general, 'cause it's happening in
naultilus too. (See bug 1048454; I may dupe that one, too.) So I'm
going to mark this a dupe of bug 1051447. I think you'll agree; change
things if you don't. Thanks.

Title:
Can't play files with apostrophe in file name
Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Using Ubuntu 12.10 with all updates. Running totem 3.4.3.
Tried playing a song from the Black Mesa Source soundtrack titled "We've Got
Hostiles".
It shows up in totem as three tracks:
- "We've"
- "Got"
- "Hostiles.mp3"
The files cannot be played simply because it thinks it's looking for:
- "/home/nate/Desktop/BMS - Soundtrack/We've"
- "/home/nate/Desktop/BMS - Soundtrack/Got"
- "/home/nate/Desktop/BMS - Soundtrack/Hostiles.mp3"
After some testing, it's due to the apostrophe. I don't remember this being
an issue in 12.04.
